The core loop
Each chapter has the same shape: a swing section that gets you to a new district, an investigation scene, a short choice, and a return trip under heavier pressure. The skill ceiling lives in the swing sections; the writing lives in the investigation scenes.
Chapter 1 — The Waterfront
Tutorial district. Wide streets, low buildings, and slow patrols. Use this chapter to learn the rhythm: aim high, release at the top of the arc, anchor before you lose altitude. The evidence here is straightforward — two of the three clues sit on the same pier.
Walkthrough highlights
- Use the warehouse roof to cross the main avenue without being seen.
- The third clue is hidden behind the loading bay — look for the lit window.
- Close Case is unlocked after all three clues are pinned. Pick the conclusion that matches the physical evidence, not the emotional one.
Chapter 2 — The Foundry
New in Version 2.0. Taller buildings, narrower streets, and searchlights that sweep every nine seconds. The Foundry rewards rhythm players.
Walkthrough highlights
- Time your anchor release to the gap between searchlight sweeps.
- The chimney stacks can be used as visual waypoints — each one lines up with the next safe anchor.
- The evidence in this chapter is a three-way match: a witness statement, a ledger entry, and a photograph. Cross-reference them in the journal before closing.
Chapter 3 — Old Money Hill
Manor roofs, garden walls, and a lot of private security. The pressure is the most consistent of the three districts and the patrol patterns are tighter. There is no shortcut here; clean swings and good evidence work are both required.
Walkthrough highlights
- Anchor on the low garden walls to cross the open courtyards without triggering a searchlight.
- The evidence is spread across two scenes; you will need to revisit the first scene to pick up the cross-reference.
General tips
- High release, low anchor. This is the single most useful habit to build.
- Don’t fight the rain. Visual clutter is part of the noir feel; train your eyes on the rooftops, not the street.
- Pin early. Pinning a clue is reversible; missing a clue is not.
- Use the journal. It exists to cross-reference evidence so you don’t have to remember every detail.
- Take a break between chapters. Spider Noir Game respects your time. The case will still be on file tomorrow.
